DPS was founded in the year 2008. The School aims to train global leaders by making them technically competent and inculcating in them the best of values. The buzz word of our school has been "Excellence in everything we do". At DPS, Udhampur there is simple philosophy to transform simple potentiality into reality because children are our biggest responsibility.

The pre-primary wing has activities which helps students to grow in a caring and a care-free environment, balancing body and mind. The school is first one in Udhampur to start Induction and Orientation programme for the parents. The school has well equipped labs with trained teachers. Keeping the objective of value, character, social responsibility and confidence. our students have been groomed in various activities of National level and State level. Students have created awareness amongst people by showcasing "Nukkad Natak" highlighting the social issues.

Delhi Public school Society -New Delhi –World Wide Association of schools which strives to inculcate contemporary global values in the youth. The DPS society is a non profit, non-proprietary, private, educational organization. This global network of over 200 English medium, co-educational, secular schools provides education from Pre-Nursery to Class XII. The DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL SOCIETY – THE JOURNEY

From the beginning in the President's Estate in 1941 as Church High School to Naveen Bharat School in 1947 and finally in 1949 at its present location on Mathura Road, DPS has traversed a long journey. The birth of a new nation in 1947 was in a way the beginning of DPS (called Naveen Bharat then), a momentous time in the history of our nation, when a beginning was made to fulfil a social, national need.

DPS Mathura Road was the only school till DPS R.K.Puram came into being in 1972. Over 200 schools that followed are simple assertions of the strength that is DPS. Yet what has remained unchanged is the zest and spirit to achieve and to excel.

GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES

The school is spread over 12 acres of pollution free area along side and NH44 in natural forest like shady trees, grassy lawns, flower beds and water bodies providing a soothing view.

It is situated in the campus of Rathian and is just less than 4 k.m. from the main city.

The school has instructional introspection among the students through The Shiv Temple within the school Campus, since its inception. Students observe prayer everyday amide at encouraging self reflection for greater self awareness.

Social and community service

The school encourages the students to participate in community welfare program in order to help develop the finer sensibilities of children. Such initiatives include social service league promotes welfare programs for physically challenged children, orphans, homeless. The school has initiated a program called Hand full of Atta & Rice which our students collect and them distribute among the needy and homeless.

Like all educational institutes in the country, DPS Udhampur has been facing a big challenge with the onset of the Corona pandemic, and the nation-wide lockdown of March 2020. Schools and colleges have been compelled to improvise by going in for online teaching. This has meant teachers having to master digital skills, and to successfully convey those skills to the students sitting in their homes, with devices like computers and smart phones. There has also been the issue of connectivity. Parents, too, have had to make difficult adjustments. Hence, for close to two years, teachers, students and parents have had to evolve an entirely new paradigm of learning. The transition has not been easy. But I am glad to say that your school has met this unprecedented crisis as well as was humanly possible. We have emerged stronger and wiser. For this I would like to congratulate all those concerned – the Principal, the teachers, students, parents, and of course the pro-VC, for providing the digital infrastructure so essential for good electronic communication. I write this as another variant of the virus, the Omicron, is spreading like wildfire all over the world, including India. Let’s face it: we will have to live with a hybrid form of learning, physical and online, in the foreseeable future. However, just as have done in the past two years, we shall not only overcome but come out stronger than ever.
