‘Earth Day’
Delhi Public School, Udhampur celebrated Earth day with enthusiasm. To mark Earth Day and emphasise upon the need to save mother earth. Kindergarden students of the school were invaded in different activities depicting earth day in their scrap books. Students come dressed up in green attires with the theme of ‘Go Green’ They were made to communicate few lines and slogans conveying the message of keeping surrounding clean and in turn taking care of ‘Mother Earth’.
Two days long earth day celebration concluded today with plantation drive. All the students from classes I to V brought saplings and seeds to participate in vanaspati vriksharopan and teacher’s along with students planted the saplings. The school gardener offered friendly help to ensure that each sapling was carefully lended. The main aim was to sensitise the student about tree plantation
Pro-vice Chairman Dr. J.C Gupta of the school appreciated the efforts of young toddlers and added that we are fortunate to have born on earth and we should join our hands together to save our planet earth from the increasing environmental degradation and exhorted everybody to save flora and fauna, soil and water from unhealthy man made practices. Principal of the school, Mr. Kunal Anand reminder children of their responsibility to words mother and administrated a pledge and save our fast depleting natural resources. The celebration concluded with the belief that students would respect their nature inheritance and be good care takers of their planet.
